My return trip westbound I-84 through the Gorge and the sights of fire damage.
Since my last visit out to the Columbia River Gorge on Sept. 3, 2017, the Eagle Creek Fire continues to smolder today.
Back in October 1991, a fire broke out at the top of Multnomah Falls. A Boeing Vertol 234 “Chinook” was spotted collecting water from the Columbia River, rising over I-84 to dump on the fire.
A fire in Eagle Creek area in the Columbia River Gorge broke out Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, smoke fills the Columbia River Gorge.
On the morning of Sep. 1 around 8:30 a.m., grass fire was seen burning on a grass knoll at the intersection of U.S. 26 and I-405 just north of SW 14th Ave in Portland, Oregon.
A large tree limb fell on Tuesday morning, closing SE 32nd Ave. in Milwaukie, Oregon.
