The first of the three stops for today’s photo trip is at the Portland Women’s Forum overlook east of Corbett, Oregon. The overlook offers a view of Vista House and Beacon Rock out in the distance. It also offers a memorial plaque to Simon Benson and an interpretive plaque.
Unfortunately, most of the Historic Columbia River Highway and attractions on the Oregon side between east of Corbett and Hood River are closed from the Eagle Creek Fire. Portland Women’s Forum, Rooster Rock State Park, and Starvation Creek (picnic area and restrooms only) are the only parks open for now between Corbett and Hood River.
Telescopes are available at the site for viewing. They are removed mid-fall for the winter season and return in the spring.
