Not much to do at Starvation Creek

Interstate 84 eastbound through the Columbia River Gorge reopened this past Saturday after being closed from the Eagle Creek Fire since Sept. 4. Four Oregon State Parks in the Columbia River Gorge also reopened: Rooster Rock, Dabney, Portland Women’s Forum, and Starvation Creek. I decided on Starvation Creek.

So, what was there to do at Starvation Creek? Well, park and use the restroom. Maybe sit at the picnic table. The trails leading to Starvation Falls, Cabin Creek Falls, Hole-In-The-Wall Falls were barricaded.

Most of the other state and federal parks and attractions along I-84 and Historic Columbia River Highway between Troutdale and Hood River, except for the four locations that reopened, remained closed. That includes Multnomah Falls.

So much for that.
