Sully’s Cafe and Gaucho’s Argentine Cusine

A few weeks ago, I saw Sully’s Cafe in downtown Milwaukie closed. Then I heard the cafe is becoming an Argentine cuisine restaurant. I thought this was the end of one of my favorite cafe’s for breakfast.

The restaurant reopened, but the storefront brands two names now: Sully’s Cafe and Gaucho’s Argentine Cuisine. The former Sully’s owner sold the restaurant three weeks ago and the new owners decided to offer the two restaurants at different time periods.

Inside, the restaurant received a new earth tone paint job. The tables are now covered with tablecloths with the condiments and a flower vase with a flower. Outside are new picnic tables lining the storefront and it’s somewhat quiet, except for the passing bus.

Sully’s Cafe still offers the same menu items as it did under the previous owner. I haven’t been in the restaurant yet for the Caucho’s Argentine cuisine.

Sully’s Cafe is open for breakfast Sunday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Gaucho’s is open for dinner Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and late on Saturday’s from 9:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. It is located at 2037 S.E. Jefferson St. in Milwaukie.

I have always wondered why more resturaunts do not do this. Seems like it would really cut overhead on a business.

It seems practical. While the name remains the same, the one and only factor that changes everything is Dave, the previous owner is not there anymore.
