Starlight Parade

It’s been a while since I’ve watched the Starlight Parade in downtown Portland. Biking to the parade was my prefered choice because parking and traffic is too much hassle for driving. Besides, in my opinion, I’ve found it much easier to get around downtown by bike than driving.

The parade itself and the attendance turnout was great. Good ‘ol Mother Nature decided to be nice to us by allowing us to enjoy the parade rain-free. Just a few days ago, the rain-puking clouds turned the Rose Festival Waterfront Village grounds into slop, thus closing the events.

I hung out at the parade and shot some photographs. About an hour later, I rode off to head home, crossing over the Morrison Bridge and testing out the bridge’s new bike path. The bike path improvements were definitely needed and I’m just happy that it’s now done.

Riding a bike at night is a different story than riding in the day. The Springwater Corridor Willamette trail is unlit and extremely dark an night, especially along Oaks Bottom. I’m just glad that it didn’t rain.
