Portland Aerial Tram

It may not be as spectacular as the Aguille du Midi, nor is it as lengthy as Palm Springs, but the Portland Aerial Tram does get you from Point-A to Point-B the scenic way. Its over-budget $57 million price tag made it one of the most controversial transportation projects in Portland. However, $4 for the round-trip fare and no expense for biking to the tram via Springwater Trail and Hawthorne Bridge, it was a cheap day out.

I shot a few photos from the tram on the trip up and then from the upper terminal while waiting for the next car. The turnaround was quick for the return trip because I had to head back to Milwaukie for another event. I could not shoot photos tomorrow because the tram will not run for a week when the haul rope is replaced.
